【宋得利诗英译】-尼亚加拉瀑布 -The Falls, Niagara ! 一语，迟复为歉！

Dear Lake-side,

I like this series of travel notes of yours. They are just like a bunch of tiny flowers which were just collected from the river side after rain. Though little, they are sweet and fresh which make me much excited. I also love to write this sort of article. And sometimes I wrote poems concerning where I visited and what I saw. I’ve been in Canada only once. During a 20-day-visit to Canada & America in the winter of 1991 I once stayed in Toronto for a day or two and once went to see the famous Niagara Fall. But I’ve never been Fort George. Many years later I composed a poem named Niagara Fall in 1998 which was published in 《China Press》. I’d like to share it with you. But it’s a pity I haven’t translated into English so I have to post it here in Chinese.
I’d like to have your version of my poem. Thank you.

Dear Deli, 德利君，

24 June. 2008

Thank you, for the powerful poem. I liked it so much, so I did it with no delay of any seconds , and almost none stop. It not only brought me back to the closest spot where one stood lost in amazement; but also embraced me into the charm of the nature, and thinking of the truth of life as the river flows to the lakes.

As you prosed, it's all the mightiness in that millions, and millions of tiny water-drops, that makes it all greatfull and powerfull, enough to weaken anything that humanly exists.

I am sorry, dear Deli, I did not see and read the poem at first hand when you post it, but I have been doing it with full enjoyment of every seconds! Here is the homework, and hope you like it!

I look forward to hearing you soon !

尼亚加拉瀑布
The Falls, Niagara !

百尺银练舞，Silvery jewelery drops, O'er Angles' dance scarves,
半空烟浪飞。Erecting up smoky n milky way up in half the sky high
十里涛声震，Waves echoes ten miles away, n vibrant rocks, trembling
一江碧水回。A river whirls strong towards lakes and seas
轰隆隆，Hear ？ the mighty noise?
不阴何雷？No Thunder roars as lauder as this!
光灿灿，See it?
不霁何虹？No rainbows bright as shining as this!
乱云含雨般迷，Mystique, in clouds only and rains scrambling，
正好天光日亮时候。Then, the moment in sun-light and bright
是阴是晴，Chilled or not?
怪也不怪？ Hardly, human can tell!
冰丝带雪般冷，Snowy and icy,
却是衣单袖短时节。When in shorts and sleeveless!
是冬是夏，Winter or Summer?
奇也不奇？O, My Niagara Falls! Canada!

千千百百个 Thousands, Millions or Innumerable?
风云雷雨阴晴日，O, Sky, let you be cloudy, rain, or shine
似如此这般 Like this or thus,
轰鸣咆哮咆哮轰鸣；It roars into the sky and be heard by all!
百百千千个 Hundreds, or Millions,
春夏秋冬寒暑天，But seasons only four!
若这般如此 If this or thus,
沸腾倾泻倾泻沸腾。Water Fall N the Water, let Fall !
不虚此行偿夙愿，O, My Lord, My...!
等闲莫与俗人看。Oh, Mighty all no normals!
瀑布看我不烦不厌，Let it fall, and fall on me, fall n fall!
我看瀑布不厌不烦。Let me see, see it fall, and fall on me,
(so close and the clearest!)
